Double Down
After a big 5-0 win against Whitby last Sunday, the Whitby Wildcats were back looking to avenge the loss Friday night in Belleville. Whitby came out with lots of energy and got off to a 1-0 lead 6 minutes into of the first period. The CDS Jr. Bulls were on their heels the rest of the period and went down a man with 3 1/2 minutes to go in the first frame. The Jr. Bulls took advantage of a Whitby turnover and Nate Ketcheson scored a shorthanded marker 1 minute into the penalty kill.

Not to be outdone, 7 seconds later, Whitby scored a powerplay marker to take a 2-1 lead into the second period. The Jr. Bulls found some legs in the second and quickly tied the game 16 seconds into the second frame on the powerplay on a low bullet from Drew Babcock only to see Whitby regain the lead and add another for a 2 goal lead half way through the second. In a feisty second period that saw a lot of penalty minutes on both sides, the Jr. Bulls scratched out 2 more of their own with goals from Dylan Patterson and Mackinley Boomhower. Although the Jr. Bulls dominated the third period there were unable to score and the game ended 4-4 in a spirited effort from both teams.

Saturday, the Jr. Bulls welcomed the Uxbridge Stars to town. The wear and tear from the game Friday night was obvious throughout the contest as the Jr. Bulls never seemed to get their game going. Mackinley Boomhower opened the scoring 6 minutes into the second period but the Jr. Bulls gave it back with 5 minutes to go in the period. Dallas Paduch gave the Jr. Bulls the lead on an Uxbridge turnover snapping a wrister past the glove of the Uxbridge goalie with 3 seconds left in the second. The Jr. Bulls came out flat in the 3rd period and were unable to capitalize on 2 powerplay opportunities. With 3:48 to go, the Jr. Bulls took an undisciplined double minor that would see them shorthanded for the remainder of the contest. The Stars made the Jr. Bulls pay tying the game with 24 seconds left. The game ended in a 2-2 tie.

It has been a good run as the Jr. Bulls are undefeated in their last five games with a record of 3-0-2. Next up, the Triangle Fluid Controls Jr. Bulls travel to Uxbridge Saturday December 5th to complete the home and home with the Uxbridge Stars.
