Opening up scoring 23 seconds into the first, Rose passed to
Richards, who deked to the backhand to slide it in.
Feeling energized by beating the Colts to the board, the
Bulls were able to kill their only penalty at 8:05 in the first.
Channel and Birchard; Yuan and Williams were clearing it out of the Bulls end and playing solid defence.
Back checking by McLellan, Mott, Royce and Conlin were essential to keeping the Colts from scoring opportunities.
Period two saw more of the same fast paced action with no further scoring until 4:09. Dow had a clear shot after a pass from Tinney and Scruby. At the end of a Bulls power play Richards saw his second goal of the game, this time assisted by Tinney and Dow at 1:41 in the second. Just a minute later, Scruby unassisted gave the Bulls a 4-0 lead to start the third.
The break for the flooding didn’t boost the Colts. Despite constant pressure on Rosatte, they were never able to see the board. Rosatte continued with his quick reflexes and snatches.
At 7:37 in the third Tinney scored, with a wrap around, the fifth and final goal of the game, unassisted.
