While this is the end of the journey to OMHA finals for the
Bantam AA Bulls they can walk away standing proud of the games they played
along the way.
Last night Rosatte played an outstanding game making save
after amazing save and keeping the Colts from showing on the board until the
third. A couple of close scoring opportunities
happened in the second for the Bulls but problems with the net being taken off
prevented them from materializing anything.
In fact scoring did not happen until 3:05 in the second. Aaron Yuan took a shot on a net, Jacob Tinney
tipped it to Eric Conlon, who waited out the goalie and put it in
backhand. The Bulls and their fans went
ecstatic.
The Colts came into the third not willing to give up the game and managed to score at 10:45 and again at 4:13. Not giving up though our Bulls pulled it together and Conlon again scored, this time tipping in a shot by Matthew Birchard off of Caiden Royce.
Neither team feeling comfortable with a tie; were pressuring the defense and goalies. Finally with 52 seconds left in the third the Colts scored their winning goal.
This team has benefitted from great coaching and management over the years to become a contender in the semis, and while the games finished in four they can know that they deserved to be where they were, having never giving up more then 2 games straight in regular or playoff season. As noted on instagram, “It’s not a team it’s a family”. And from the years together they have amazing memories, medals and most importantly relationships that will last a lifetime. #chicago, #detroit, #ottawa, #thanksforthememories.
Have a great summer boys!
